The draw for the group stage will be held on 25 August 2016, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The 32 teams are drawn into eight groups of four, with the restriction that teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
Four teams are in Group D will be competing for a ticket to qualify for the knockout round (last 16), which is only awarded to the winner and runner-up group. As for the rank-3 will be transferred to the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League 2016-17.
